The Rorke’s Drift Museum, situated on the banks of the Buffalo River, emanates the spirit of a bygone era. In 1847, Irishman Jim Rorke established a trading post here, a place where settlers and Zulus alike found common ground. The original buildings, unfortunately destroyed after the war, have given way to a modest yet compelling museum.
